This table lists the mnemonics you can use in operand values for complex pay element formulae:

Mnemonic Description Explanation
ADT Annual Divisor Table The number of periods in the year the employee is paid, for example, 12 for monthly, 52 for weekly
PR PR1 PR2 Post Rate Overtime Rate 1 Overtime Rate 2 The rates held in the employee post holding screen. Employees in the post will inherit the rate and overtime rates for this pay element.
WIP Weeks in Period The number of weeks in a pay period may vary. The number is held in the Tax Period Calendar for the current pay period.
DIP Calendar Days in Tax Period The number of calendar days in the current tax period for this employee.
PWY Emp. Paid Weeks in Year The employee's paid weeks per year figure.
JWY Job Paid Weeks in Year The employee's job paid weeks per year figure.
CH Contract Hours The number of hours the employee works per week.
JCH Job Contract Hours The number of hours a full-timer works per week.
FTE Full-Time Equivalent

The proportion of the job hours worked by the employee.

FTE = Employee Weekly Hours/Job Hours

PFE Emp. Paid Full-Time Equiv.

The employee's full-time equivalent figure based on weeks per year and contract hours calculation.

PFE = Employee Weekly Hours * Employee PWY/Job Hours * Job JWY

AVP Average Pay

The current Average Pay value held against the post holding (or employee) to which this pay element relates.

AVH Average Hours

The current average hours value held against the post holding (or employee) to which this pay element relates.

GR Grade Rate The hourly rate of pay derived from the spinal column (if the payment is grade related).
BR Teachers Non Enhanced Rate The rate of pay derived from the teacher's spinal column, without including any allowances.
SDNP Sick Days Not Paid The number of days in the current pay period, for which this pay element is not to be paid.
MTAB Monetary Table Value

Allows any attached monetary tables to be reprocessed within the complex formula phase of the calculate process. This mnemonic should be used when the monetary table co-ordinates use values that could change during the calculation process, for example, accumulated values.

LEL Lower Earnings Limit The employee's weekly or monthly Lower Earnings Limit amount, depending on their payment frequency.
UEL Upper Earnings Limit The employee's weekly or monthly Upper Earnings Limit amount, depending on their payment frequency.
UAP Upper Accrual Point The employee's weekly or monthly Upper Accrual Point amount, depending on their payment frequency.
PT Primary Threshold The employee's weekly or monthly Primary Threshold amount, depending on their payment frequency.
AELOW AE Lower Threshold The auto enrolment lower threshold applicable to the pay reference period being processed.
AEUP AE Upper Threshold The auto enrolment upper threshold applicable to the pay reference period being processed.
AEAE AE Enrolment Threshold The qualifying earnings auto enrolment amount applicable to the pay reference period being processed.
NMW National Minimum Wage The statutory hourly rates for employees and apprentices as derived from the NMW/Living Wage Parameters screen (MD305S4).
