UEaaaaaaaa is an existing mnemonic that represents a user exit, where aaaaaaaa invokes a customised routine.

In addition, there are some standard exits available to all users. These are controlled by pay element categories which are user definable. This functionality overcomes the limitations of specifying individual pay elements as operands in a formula, as the number of elements in a category is unlimited.
