Case Conversion
Enables you to specify the format of field values in standard letters and emails, including case, date and time formats.
For example, you could specify that the value of a particular field must always appear in title case (with initial capitals), regardless of the format in which it is held in ResourceLink.
General
Dictionary
Enter the code of the dictionary for which you want to specify field case conversions, or select one from the drop-down list.
Description
Display only. The description of the selected dictionary.
Available Inserts
Displays a tree structure of folders and fields on the left-hand side and field format details on the right-hand side.
You can select the fields to format as follows:
- Scroll through the list of folders to find the relevant folder. Click a folder to display the associated fields.
- Search for a field by clicking the Search button to display Search Criteria.
Once you have located the required field, the field is displayed on the right-hand side.
Current Folder
Display only. The name of the folder containing the listed field.
Current Field
Display only. The name of the selected field.
Conversion Type
Enter the conversion code you want to use to apply formatting to the field or select one of the following from the drop-down list. The options are set up in the STDLCT narrative category.

A1 | Data remains as input. No formatting applies. |
D1 | Date format DD/MM/YYYY - for example, 21/06/2014. |
D2 | Date format DD M YYYY - for example, 21 June 2014. |
D3 | Day of the week dd mmm yy - for example, 21st Jun 14. |
DP | Value has two decimal places - for example, 17.99, to allow monetary values to be displayed in pounds and pence. |
LW | Lower case - for example, standard letters. |
N1 | Alpha as Integer - displays numbers with leading zeros (deemed alphas) as numbers - for example, 003 displays as 3. |
SU | Surname case - applies initial capitals and also changes instances of MAC and MC to Mac and Mc - for example, MacGregor, McWheeble. |
T1 | Time format HH:MM:SS - for example, 12:45:37. |
T2 | Time format HH:MM - for example, 12:45. |
UL | Title case - for example, Standard Letters. |
UP | Upper case - for example, STANDARD LETTERS. |
