Enables you to specify the levels you require in the currently selected hierarchy for a particular version.

General

Level

Enter the hierarchy level number, between 01 and 99.

Note: If you number your levels 01, 02, 03, 04 etc, you cannot insert any new levels between existing levels at a later stage. Instead, it is recommended that you use numbers such as 10, 20, 30 etc. However, for your payroll hierarchy, your payroll control group (top level) must be set at level 01. All other levels can then use numbers such as 10, 20, 30 etc.

When you have completed the screen and confirmed your entries, the levels are sorted in numeric order, regardless of the order in which you entered them.

To insert a new level between two existing levels, assign it an appropriate level number. For example, to add a new level between levels 20 and 30, simply add a level 25 (or 26, 27...). When the screen is confirmed, the new level is inserted in the correct position.

Note: The maximum total levels of hierarchy that you can configure for your business, regardless of the level numbers, is 10

Short, Long Description

Enter abbreviated and full descriptions respectively, to represent each hierarchy level. These should be meaningful descriptions as there may be a number of hierarchies and many levels in each hierarchy on the system. Examples of possible level descriptions are ‘Control Group’, ‘Department’, ‘Pay Group’...
