The system has a flexible letter generation facility that enables you to create and maintain the various standard letters you send to your employees. Letters can be produced either via a word processor, or sent directly to employees via your email system.

You can define template documents that extract information from the system, so you can produce personalised letters, memos, contracts, and so on. You can request and print letters, and keep a letter history file containing details of the letters in the print queue and those printed.

Letter requests can be generated automatically by incorporating a letter into a task. You can increase efficiency by using changeable items, called variables, in standard (or template) letters.

Set the MISC > STD_LETTER > REQUEST system parameter to one of the following values:

I Subsequent letter requests are ignored (default).
M Enables the multiple requests functionality, where the same standard letter can be printed multiple times in a day, and the same multiple letter can be concurrently requested multiple times.
P The user is prompted when a duplicate request occurs.
R The latest request replaces all previous requests.
