Enables you to set up and maintain work patterns. Work patterns specify the days and times that comprise a working roster. This may be standard weekly based, i.e. Monday to Friday (which would be entered as five days on and two days off) or may be constructed from a pattern such as two days on, three days off repeating (which would be entered as a five-day pattern).

More complex patterns are also catered for, such as one where three days on morning shift, three days on day shift, three days on afternoon shift and four days off is worked. A working pattern of 13 days would be entered for this. The shift times for each of the working days can be entered in the session details.

Start Date

Enter the first day on which the work pattern becomes effective. The system uses this date as the default. When you link a work pattern to an employee, it defaults to this start date in the pattern (or offset from this start date), though you can override this for individual employees. The system can then use the work pattern to calculate the employee’s work status on particular dates, e.g. when it generates the absence calendar.

Weekly Hours

Used to record details that are used for Full-Time Equivalent (FTE) figures when the work pattern is used to assess the hours for an employee. Enter the equivalent weekly hours for the work pattern.
