Enables you to view the employee’s career history. The details displayed show the various posts, grades, locations, work patterns and structure units the employee has occupied during their employment with the company. All the fields in this screen are display only.

Date History

History Between

Automatically defaults to the date the employee started with the company and today’s date. If you want to view the employee’s full career history, press RETURN twice to accept these dates.

If you want to display a shorter period, enter the start and end dates of the required career history.

Paging Area

Start Date

The date when the employment details were changed.

End Date

This date is calculated as soon as another change is made to the employment details. If the employment details are up-to-date, this field is left blank.

Main

The employee may occupy several posts at the same time. Y in this field indicates this is the employee’s main post where they spend the majority of their time.

Post

Short description of the post the employee occupied is displayed.

Grade

Short description of the grade associated with the post is shown.

Reason

The reason why the employment details were changed, e.g. promotion, transfer.

If multiple changes were made on the same day, but different reasons were used, the system displays Y in this field. Click WINDOW to display the full list of reasons.

Location

Short description of the location of the post is displayed.

Pattern

Short description of the work pattern associated with the post is shown.

Post Desc

A full description of the post.

Grade Desc

A full description of the grade attached to the post.

Loc Desc

A full description of the location of the post.

Patt Desc

A full description of the work pattern associated with the post.

Hierarchy

Click WINDOW to display the Structure Unit Position window, in which you can view the position of the post within the main HR hierarchy.

The bottom line of the window displays the level at which the post is attached in relation to higher level structure units within the same hierarchy. For information about hierarchies and structures, see Setting Up Hierarchies and Structures.
