Enables you to maintain parameters for Statutory Parental Bereavement Pay (SPBP).

General

Relevant Week

The relevant week is a specific week before the bereavement date. Pay received in the eight weeks (or relevant period) leading up to the relevant week is used to calculate average earnings. The initial setting for the relevant week is one week before the bereavement date, i.e. the week before the week in which the child dies, with a week being Sunday to Saturday. This is equivalent to the Qualifying Week field for the other parental leave types.

Earliest PBLP Start

Enter the earliest week before the bereavement date that Parental Bereavement Leave (PBL) pay can start, with zero being the week beginning with the bereavement date. Bereavement leave and pay cannot start before the bereavement date.

Latest PBLP Start

Enter the latest week after the bereavement date that PBL pay can start. PBL can be taken during a period of 56 weeks from the bereavement date and SPBP can be taken as a two week block or separate one week blocks. Therefore, the last week in which SPBP may begin is the 56th week after the bereavement date.

Service Qualification Weeks

Enter minimum service weeks required to be eligible for SPBP. Entitlement to leave is from 'day one' - i.e. no service is required to be entitled to PBL.

Number of Weeks in PLPP

Enter the number of weeks allowed for a Parental Leave Pay Period (PLPP). The PLPP is the time for which SPBP is applicable. In the case of parental bereavement, this is the number of weeks pay and leave allowed for each child that has died. The weeks may be taken as a single block or as separate week-long blocks. The initial setting is two weeks for each child.

Rate Amount

Enter the standard weekly amount of SPBP.

Rate Percentage

Enter the percentage of average pay for SPBP. The amount of SPBP paid will be the lower of the standard weekly amount or the percentage rate of average earnings.

Lower Earnings Limit

Enter the lower earnings limit for SPBP eligibility.

Reclaim Percentage

Enter the percentage reclaim rate for SPBP.

Child Age Qualification Years

Enter the age (years) below which a child must be at the bereavement date for the parent to be eligible for PBL.

Stillbirth Qualification Weeks

In the event of a stillbirth, the parent is eligible for PBL if the bereavement date is at or after a minimum number of weeks of the pregnancy. The initial setting is 24 weeks.
