The System Events screens enable you to configure certain pre-defined system events. Pre-defined events are set up in the DIARYE narrative category. An event constitutes an entry to a specified trigger field.

Notifications can be generated when certain pre-defined events occur on the system. Examples of events that can trigger notifications are the entry of a date in a particular field or a change of status code. When such an event occurs, a notification is generated immediately for a specified recipient. This can be an email, an email with a standard letter attached to it, or an entry added to an operator or employee diary.

Some events can have a condition attached, for example, for the event DSCRVW, you could specify that a disciplinary letter only be sent if the Disciplinary Type field contains a specified code, when a date is entered in the Review Date field.
