PRSI Details is only relevant where Irish legislation applies.
It enables you to set up and maintain employees’ pay-related social insurance
(PRSI) details.
Before using this screen, you must have set up PRSI parameters
for the applicable tax year using PRSI
Parameters. In addition, you must have designated the employee’s
payroll control group as being subject to Ireland PRSI rules, using Ireland Company Details.
To access this window, enter fast path HR49S11.
General
Effective Date
Effective date of the PRSI details.
SI Class
Enter the class letter. The options are set up in the PRSICL narrative category. When you
create new details, the default is that defined in Ireland
Company Details for the employee’s payroll control group. If the class letter is X, you must enter an Exemption Reason.
RPN
The Revenue Payroll Notification Number. This value is display only.
Issue Date
The date on which the RPN was issued by Revenue. This value is display only.
Notes
Click window to display Maintain Note Detail,
where you can enter any notes or comments you want to record.
Additional
Click EXPAND to hide or display the
following fields:
FAS
Select this check box to exempt
the employee from paying the health contribution and employment and training
levy. You cannot make an entry in this field if the SI
Class entered is K or M. If SI Class is X, this field will be disabled. If ticked, the Ers and Expat check boxes will be disabled. If ticked, you must enter an Exemption Reason.
Ers
Select this check box if the employee
is approved under the employer’s PRSI exemption scheme. You can only make
an entry in this field if the SI Class
entered is A or X. If SI Class is X, this field will be disabled. If ticked, the FAS and Expat check boxes will be disabled. If ticked, you must enter an Exemption Reason.
Expat
Select this check box if the employee is exempt from PRSI due to being an expatriate. If SI Class is X, this field will be ticked and disabled. The FAS and Ers exemption reasons and the Participant flag will be cleared and disabled. If ticked, the FAS and Ers check boxes will be disabled. If ticked, you must enter an Exemption Reason.
Participant
Select this check box if the employee
participates in community employment. You can only make an entry here
if the SI Class entered is A. Entering Y
in this field deletes any entry in the Employee
Levy Exemption and Employer Exemption
fields.
Exemption Reason
Enter the reason for the PRSI exemption or click Window to select. The options are set up in the IEEXMP narrative category. This field is mandatory if SI Class is X or if any of the FAS, Ers, or Expat or boxes are ticked.
