This screen is only applicable where Irish legislation applies. Enables you to set up and maintain various pay related social insurance (PRSI) parameters used to calculate the employee’s and employer’s social insurance contributions. The Department of Social Welfare provide this information.

Note: You must set up employees’ individual PRSI details via PRSI Detail before calculating PRSI deductions.

Selection

Effective Date

Enter the effective date of the PRSI parameters that you want to maintain, or select one by clicking WINDOW to display Effective Date Selection.

If the effective date does not exist, a prompt is displayed allowing you to create the new date. If you choose to create the new effective date, Copy PRSI Table Version is displayed where you can copy an existing set of parameters and amend the details.

PRSI Ceiling

Employee, Employer

Enter the employee’s and employer’s cumulative earnings ceilings in whole points.

Addit. T/hold (B,C,D) Weekly

Enter the weekly threshold amount for class B, C and D employees.

Monthly

Enter the monthly threshold amount for class B, C and D employees.

Perc.

Enter the additional contribution percentage rate payable by class B, C and D employees once the weekly or monthly thresholds have been exceeded.

FAS Apprentice Training Levy

Enter the percentage that the employer contributes in addition to the percentage determined from the PRSI tables. ResourceLink applies this additional percentage only if it has been set for the control group via Ireland Company Details .

Community Employment Class

Enter the appropriate class or sub-class or select one from the drop-down list. The options are set up in the PRSISC narrative category.

Note: If the Community Employment Class field has been set, class A8 is used instead of A9, if the employee’s pay is below the threshold for A9.

Age Limit For Er’s Exemption

Enter the age in years above which the employer’s PRSI exemption does not apply. ResourceLink compares the employee’s age at pay date with the age entered here. If the employee’s age is greater, it does not apply the employer’s exemption.

Note: If the Age Limit for Er’s Exemption field has been set, the exemption age is no longer used to check eligibility, as such, class A4 is used for these employees instead of class A1 etc.

PRSI Credit Weekly, Monthly

Enter the PRSI Credit weekly and monthly amounts.

Paging Area

Class

Enter the class letter or select one from the drop-down list. The options are set up in the PRSISL narrative category.

PRSI Free Allowance Weekly, Monthly

Enter the PRSI free allowance for weekly and monthly pay frequencies.

Click WINDOW to display PRSI Class Parameters, where you set up or maintain the class parameters for the class letter on the current line.

Exclude Sick Ben deduction

Select this check box to exclude the PRSI class for sickness benefit deductions. This is used in conjunction with the Check PRSI Class for Benefit Exclusion check box in Non UK Benefit Details.

Exclude P/Leave Ben deduction

Select this check box to exclude the PRSI class for parental leave benefit deductions. This is used in conjunction with the Check PRSI Class for Benefit Exclusion check box in Non UK Benefit Details.
