Enables you to produce a file containing P45 (part 3) details for joining employees – that is, employees for whom an original start date has been entered in Employment Detail. The file can then be transmitted (using a third-party application) to HMRC to update their records. You can specify the name of the file to be produced, and the drive location where it is to be created.

Test File?

Select this check box to produce a test version of the extract. The test version is identical to the live version of the extract, except that a test indicator is added to the first line of data (the 92nd character is 1 in a test version).

Note: The following fields default to the parameters set up against the P45(3) file type in EDI File Parameters.

Filename

Enter the name of the file to which the employee records are to be extracted.

Path on Server?

Select this check box to indicate that the file path is on the server. If you leave this check box blank, you are prompted to open or save the file when you click CONTINUE.

If you select this check box, the following field is displayed where you can specify the server based location:

Enter the path of the directory where you want the file created, or leave this field blank to create the file in the default data directory on the ResourceLink server.
