Controlling Access to Person Diaries
Access to person diaries is controlled by user group and by security profile. You can assign different groups of employees to different user groups. This means that operators can be restricted to diary maintenance of their own group, or additionally be given controlled access to diary maintenance for employees linked to other user groups.
User Group Set-Up
To enable a user group to use the diary facilities, set the Diary User Group field for the user group to Y in User Group Maintenance.
Profile Set-Up
The employees for which operators can maintain diary entries are specified by their security profile. For example, they can be restricted to maintaining diary entries for a particular list of employees, or employees of particular grades. Operators can also be given controlled access to diary entries for employees linked to other user groups – for example, view-only access. Set up security profiles using the Security Profiles option. Attach the user groups whose diaries they are allowed to access to an operator’s profile.
