Probation Period Parameters
Enables you to maintain probation parameters. For each set of probation parameters, you can define different date-effective probation periods.
You can associate probation parameters with an employee's service condition using Service Condition Probation.
An employee's probation date is automatically calculated based on their main post's start date and the probation parameter associated with their service conditions or the default parameter when a new starter or rejoiner record is created, or a post change, service condition change or position status change occurs. These changes can be made via ResourceLink, MyView, the HR Interface and the Pay Framework. The Probation field in Employment Detail is then populated with the calculated date and a probation history record is created.
Note: The default probation parameter is used if the probation parameter against the employee's service conditions either does not have an effective date or has an effective date in the future. If the default probation parameter does not have an effective date or has an effective date in the future, the employee's probation date and history is not updated.
Note: The probation date and history is not populated if the calculated date is in the past or the post / service condition / position status change is future-dated. If a date has been manually entered as part of the same process, for example, a new post has been created and a probation date specified prior to commit, the probation date is not changed but a history record is created if a reason is specified.
