Structure Unit Grouping
Enables you to view or amend a hierarchy. You can add or remove structure units, view the relationships between them, or change their positions in the hierarchy.
Note: Depending on the access specified in your security profile, you may only be able to view the first level of a hierarchy. In addition, the ADD UNIT and DELETE UNIT buttons may not be enabled to prevent changes being made to the hierarchy.
An arrow to the right of a structure unit indicates that it has child structure units linked to it. Click a structure unit to display its child structure units. The currently selected structure unit is highlighted. When selected, you can carry out various actions on a structure unit using the buttons at the top of the screen.
If you have navigated through a hierarchy consisting of four or more levels, click BACK to view the parent structure unit of the current leftmost structure unit.
Buttons
GoTo
Click this button to display Select Structure Unit where you can find a structure unit within the hierarchy.
Add Unit
Click this button to display Add Structure Unit where you can add a structure unit to the selected hierarchy.
Delete Unit
Click this button to delete the selected structure unit from the hierarchy immediately.
Cut/Cancel Cut
Click this button to cut the structure unit from its existing location, so you can paste it into a new location. Once you have cut the structure unit, the button changes to Cancel Cut so you can cancel the cut if required.
Paste
Click this button to paste the cut structure unit into a new location. A dialog box is displayed asking if you want adjust the substructure levels. Click yes if you are moving the structure unit to a different level, which displays Move Structure Unit, or click No if not moving levels.
Posts
Click this button to display Maintain Posts for Structure Unit, where you can link posts to a structure unit and view employees in a post.
Labels
Click this button to toggle the label of the structure units between the full description and the level/code/short description.
Quick View
Click this button to display Structure Map, where you can view text-based map of the hierarchy.
Back
View the parent structure unit of the current leftmost structure unit.
