Enables you to enter details of parental leave processing dates.

General

Due Date

Display only. The expected due date.

Type

Display only. The parental leave type.

Birth/Placement Date

Enter the expected date of birth, or the date when the child is expected to be placed with the adoptive parents.

Contract Hours

The contracted working hours are displayed which are used to calculate OPLP payments. You can enter different contract hours if required to pay OPLP at a higher or lower level than would normally be calculated using the entitlement rules.

Earliest Date

Display only. The earliest date on which the system can start paying parental leave payments for the employee based on the due date.

Latest Date

Display only. The latest date on which the system can start paying parental leave payments for the employee based on the due date.

QW Start Date

Display only. The first week in which the system calculates parental leave pay for the employee based on the due date.

Service Start Date

The employee's start date is displayed. Enter the date the employee qualified for OPLP if this is different to their start date.

Payments Start Date

Enter the parental leave pay period start date chosen by the employee. This must be between the earliest and latest dates specified in the above fields.

Start Yr/Prd

Enter the tax year and period in which the parental leave payments should start. This defaults to the next tax year and period according to the employee’s Control Group, and cannot be changed once payments have been made.

Return To Work

Enter Y if the employee has specified that they intend to return to work after the parental leave.

Expected

This field is only enabled if you entered Y in the Return to Work field. Enter the date when the employee expects to return to work after the parental leave. If the date is earlier than the payments start date, the system stops making parental leave payments to the employee. If the date is earlier than the pay end date, payments are not affected and continue as planned.

Actual

This field is only enabled if you entered Y in the Return to Work field. Enter the date when the employee is actually returning to work after the parental leave.

Expected End Date

This field is only enabled if you entered N in the Return to Work field. Enter the end date of the employee's employment if they are not returning after the parental leave. This field is for information only and does not affect OPLP calculations.

Cert'n Received

Enter the date when the parental leave certificate was received.

Enter the payment method to use for this parental leave payment or select one of the following from the drop-down list. The options are set up in the PLCALC narrative category:

The value in this field defaults to the pay method specified for the employee's control group in Maintain Pay Calculation Detail.
