Create Post Absence Periods (Absence Groups)
Enables you to create the absence periods for the selected posts / absence types within the selected absence group, and view details of the number of entitlement units taken against each absence type / post combination in the absence group. As entitlement is taken from an absence type on a half day basis, there is a line with total entitlement units taken per absence type / post combination, and then a line per half day per absence type per post. You can amend the dates and times of each absence line created as required.
Note: If entitlement is hourly and there is not enough remaining entitlement against a selected absence type to take a half day, then this absence type is skipped and the entitlement is taken from the next absence type in the absence group.
Note: The post absence dates and times must not exceed the dates and times for the absence period. For example, if the absence period starts on the 1st June 2004, the start date for an individual post absence cannot precede this date.

The number of absence lines displayed for the absence depends on the following:
- number of posts - an absence line is created for each post selected.
- number of absence types used for entitlement - an absence line is created for each half day per absence type from which entitlement is taken. This is used in combination with the number of posts to create absence lines.
- employee changes such as position status, service conditions etc. - an absence line is created for each change.
Note: Changes to an employee such as a different service condition, are likely to affect the absence parameters associated, and in turn affect the employee’s entitlements.
