Parental Leave Date Validation
Enables you to enter the proposed dates for the parental leave absence and have the dates validated against legislation before opening the Parental Leave Processing Details window. The fields displayed will vary depending on the type of parental leave and, in the case of shared parental leave, the type of leave preceding it.
General
Due / Matching Date
Display only. Displays either the Due Date for the child in the case of a maternity, paternity birth, or neonatal care leave, or the Matching Date in the case of an adoption.
Type
Display only. Displays the type of parental leave selected
Initial Type
Display only. Displays the parental leave type that occurred before the shared leave. This field is only displayed in the case of shared parental leave linked to a previous parental leave record.
Placement / Birth Date
The actual birth date or placement date for the child. Mandatory for neonatal care leave, adoption and shared parental leave. This field is not displayed for neonatal care leave where the associated PL type is Other.
QW Start Date
Display only. The QW Start Date (qualifying week) based on the Due/Matching Date and the system settings configured for parental leave.
Earliest Start
Display only. The earliest date that parental leave can be started, based on the Due/Matching Date and the system settings configured for parental leave.
Latest Start
Display only. The latest date that parental leave can be started, based on the Due/Matching Date, the Placement/Birth Date and the system settings configured for parental leave.
Curtailment Date
The date included in the binding notice given to employers by an employee intending to curtail their maternity or adoption leave at a point in the future. This field is display only in the case of shared parental leave preceded by maternity or adoption leave.
Interim RTW Date / RTW Date
Enter the date on which the mother or adopter will return to work. This field is only displayed in the case of shared parental leave.
MPP / APP End Date
Enter the maternity / adoption pay end date. The MPP / APP End Date field is only displayed in the case of shared parental leave where a return-to-work date has been entered in the maternity or adoption linked. If a Curtailment Date is entered, this field is disabled.
Maternity / adoption
Select the type of parental leave taken by the employee's partner. This field is only displayed in the case of shared parental leave where no preceding parental leave is taken.
Max Leave Weeks
Enter the maximum number of weeks of leave available to the employee. This field is only displayed in the case of shared parental leave.
Max Payment Weeks
Enter the maximum number of payment weeks available to the employee. This field is only displayed in the case of shared parental leave. If left blank, a warning message is displayed to confirm the entry of a zero amount.
Payment / Leave Start Date
Enter the start date of paid leave or, in the case of shared parental leave with no entitlement remaining or the choice of the employee, the start date of unpaid leave.
Occupational Payment Start Date
Enter the Occupational Payment Start Date for an occupational scheme. This field is only displayed in the case of maternity, paternity, and adoption.
Start Year/Period
Enter the tax year and tax period in which payments are to begin. This will be initially derived from the Payment Start Date, but can be altered if required.
Leave End Date
Enter the expected end date of the leave. This field is only displayed for shared parental leave and the first period of paternity leave for Great Britain (England, Scotland, and Wales). For shared parental leave, if this field is left blank, the leave will extend to the return-to-work date.
This field is mandatory for employees subject to legislation in Great Britain (England, Scotland, and Wales) for paternity leave.
