Personal grades can be created for individual employees, to override the grades associated with posts. Grade usage levels let you control whether or not users can override an employee’s allocated grade. There are two types of grade usage level, for personal and post grades. The combination of these for a given employee affects whether or not the current grade can be overridden.

When you create an employee, the system allocates the default personal grade usage level, as set in System Grade Usage Levels. Use this screen to change the personal grade usage level for the current employee.

Note: When you initially upgrade to a version of ResourceLink that has the grade usage facility, existing employees’ personal grade usage levels are all set to 4.

Note: For personal grade usage levels 6-9, the screen narrative states ‘personal grade must exist’. For some high values of post grade usage level, this is not true.

Note: Changing an employee’s personal grade usage level after they have been linked to a post may corrupt their history records in Employee Grade History.
