Country Details
Enables you to set up and maintain details of the countries in which your organisation is represented.
To access this window, enter fast path HR68S1.
Selection
Country
Enter the code of the country for which you want to maintain details, or select one by clicking window to display Country Selection.
If the country does not exist, a prompt is displayed allowing you to create the new HR only country. If the country code is invalid, you can select a valid country code by clicking window to display Country Selection.
When the new HR only country is added, the corresponding country code is automatically added to the CTRYID narrative category, and the HR Only field of the corresponding narrative code displays HR.
General
Long, Short Description
Enter abbreviated and full descriptions respectively to represent the country throughout the system.
Obsolete Date
Enter the date on which this country becomes obsolete, for example, because you close down your operations within that country.
Tax Year
Start Day, Start Month
Enter the day and the month on which the country's tax year starts.
Denotation: Start Year, End Year
Select either the Start Year or End Year check box to indicate whether the tax year is represented by the year in which the tax year starts or finishes. For example, the tax year 06/04/07 to 05/04/08 is represented by 2007 providing the Start Year check box is selected.
If a tax year starts and ends in the same calendar year, for example runs 01/01/08 to 31/12/08, you should select the Start Year check box for consistency.
Note: You must not alter the tax year representation once a country is in use unless specifically instructed by Zellis as conversions may be required.
Currency
Currency
Enter the ID of the country’s currency unit or select one by clicking window to display Currency Selection.
Symbol
Enter the symbol used to represent the currency, e.g. £.
Factor
Enter the base currency unit factor. For example, there are 100 pence in £1, so enter 100.
Miscellaneous
Operator Employee Banner
Enter the ID of the employee banner definition that should be used to display the banner for the selected country by default, or select one from the drop-down list. The selected employee banner can be overridden at operator level.
Retirement Ages
Male
Enter the retirement age applicable to male employees in the selected country. You can only enter the retirement age for
- UK employees born before 6th April 1950,
- Isle of Man employees born before 6th December 1953,
- Jersey employees born before 1st January 1955,
- Guernsey employees born before 1st January 1955,
as the retirement age varies after this date depending on an employee’s date of birth.
Female
Enter the retirement age applicable to female employees in the selected country. You can only enter the retirement age for
- UK employees born before 6th April 1950,
- Isle of Man employees born before 6th December 1953,
- Jersey employees born before 1st January 1955,
- Guernsey employees born before 1st January 1955,
as the retirement age varies after this date depending on an employee’s date of birth.
