Grade Spinal Column History
Enables you to attach a spinal columns to a grade. In addition, this screen is also used to identify the minimum/maximum spinal points and incremental step appropriate to staff on this grade.
If required, you can set bar points in the spinal column for the grade. These prevent employees automatically progressing to the next pay point on the column without manual intervention. You can manually remove bar points for individual employees using Employee Spinal Grade History or Employee Personal Grade Spinal Point History.
To access this window, enter fast path HRGRADE and select Grade Spine Col Hist from the navigation panel.
General
Start Date
Enter the date from when this spinal column is applied to everyone attached to this grade.
Spinal Col.
Enter the code of the spinal column you require, or select one by clicking WINDOW to display Spinal Column Selection.
Min. Point
Enter the minimum spinal point that can be used for employees on this grade, or select one by clicking WINDOW to display Spinal Column Points.
Max. Point
Enter the maximum spinal point that can be selected for employees on this grade, or select one by clicking WINDOW to display Spinal Column Points.
Bar Pt
Enables you to set bar points in the spinal column for the grade. Click WINDOW to display Spinal Column Bar Points where you can view, create or change bar points.
N
Click window to display Maintain Note Detail, where you can enter any notes or comments you want to record.
Increment
Enter Y to allow increments or enter N to prevent increments unless overridden at employee level.
Step
Employees on the grade are each allocated an individual spinal point, via Post Grade, which can be found on the employee’s Post Holding Detail window.
The Step field is used to record the number of points employees on this grade should be increased by on each increment run. This step can be overridden if required for specific individuals using Post Grade.
Leave this field blank if a default number of stepping points is not relevant for this grade.
End Date
Enter the date after which this spinal column must not be used.
Description
Displays the full description of the spinal column selected for this grade.
Pay Range
Enter the code of the default pay range associated with this teaching grade, or select one from the drop-down list. The options are set up in the SWCPAY narrative category.
Note: Spine points are not included in the extract for pay ranges EX, OT, NJ, and SO.
