Enables you to search for people on the system with particular skills or qualifications. The result of this matching process is a report listing the attainments you are looking for, together with a list of people who match these prerequisites. You can display these results either on screen or in a printed report.

Attainment matching works on a scoring mechanism. Therefore for attainment matching to work effectively, each attainment should be given a score to measure its value to the organisation using Maintain Dependency Relationships.

To access this window, enter fast path HRPOST or HRJOB and select Attainments Matching from the navigation panel.

Selection

Run Number

Enter the run number that is associated with an existing set of attainment parameters, or select one by clicking WINDOW to display Attainment Run Selection. You can create a new set of parameters by clicking - the next run number is displayed by default.

Load Attainment Defaults is displayed if you have selected an object that already has a default attainments list against it.

General

Essential Upper Limit

Enter the highest combined score you will accept for the essential attainments, i.e. those with a Y in the Essential field. For example, if you are looking for two essential attainments, both with a score of 60, the combined upper limit would be 120. Be careful, because if you want to include people who have achieved a higher grade, maybe 80 points for each attainment, they would be excluded. To capture these people, you would have to make the upper limit much higher, e.g. 200.

Note: You can only enter an upper limit here if at least one essential attainment has been entered in the bottom section of the screen.

Essential Lower Limit

Enter the minimum combined score that is acceptable for the essential attainments. If this field is left blank, the system picks up everyone who has achieved the attainment, irrespective of their score. When you want to narrow down an existing list, you can use this field to remove anyone with a specific low score.

Desirable Upper Limit

This is similar to the Essential Upper Limit field except it applies to the desirable attainments only, i.e. those with N against the Essential field.

Note: You can only enter an upper limit here if at least one desirable attainment has been entered in the bottom section of the screen.

Desirable Lower Limit

Enter the minimum combined score that is acceptable for the desirable attainments. If this field is left blank, the system picks up everyone who has achieved the attainment, irrespective of their score. When you want to narrow down an existing list, you can use this field to remove anyone with a specific low score.

Note: The following 5 fields do not take effect until you click COMMIT to exit from the screen.

Clear Run?

Enter Y to delete this run from the system.

Clear Parameters?

Enter Y to clear out the attainment matching parameters entered into the bottom section of the screen.

Clear Report?

Enter Y to remove the list of people found in the search.

Run Process?

Enter Y to perform the attainment matching process. This searches the system to find those people who meet the selection criteria specified in the bottom section of the screen.

Print Report?

Enter Y to print the Attainment Matching Report.

Target Group

Use this field to specify the type of person you want to include in the search by entering the appropriate object, for example, applicant, employee, interviewer, or by selecting one by clicking window to display Select Human Object.

Staff List

Enter the name of a staff list. If you prefer to select a person using their personal number, leave this field blank.

Personal No

Enter the person’s personal number. If the person is an employee this is the employee number, or if an applicant it is the applicant number. Once you have entered the number, the person’s name is displayed alongside. If you have entered a staff list name, this field is skipped.

Output List Name

This field lets you create a staff list of the people who meet the attainment matching criteria. You can only make an entry in this field if you previously entered Employee in the Target Group field. You can then use this staff list when selecting employees.

Paging Area

Group

Enter the group code under which the attainment falls, e.g. qualification, skill, language, or select one by clicking WINDOW to display Narrative Category Search.

Subject

Enter the subject code, or select one by clicking WINDOW to display Dependency Selection. The subjects listed are only those associated with the group selected in the previous field.

Type

Enter the type code, or select one by clicking WINDOW to display Dependency Selection. The types listed are those associated with the group selected.

Grade

This field is optional and mutually exclusive with the Min Score field. If you enter a grade, the report totals only includes people who have achieved exactly the same grade as the one specified. For example, if you specify grade C, but the person has obtained a higher or lower grade, their score (even if it is higher) is not included in the totals. Their attainment is displayed on the report but it is marked with an asterisk to indicate they did not match the required standard exactly.

If you leave this field blank, the system picks up people irrespective of the grade they achieved. This is useful if you wanted to find everyone who has a degree in English, but are not interested in whether they obtained a 1st, 2nd, etc.

Enter the grade code, or select one by clicking WINDOW to display Dependency Selection. If a score is attached to this grade, it is automatically placed into the Score field below.

Essential

The report separates your requirements into essential and desirable attainments. Enter Y to indicate that it is essential for people to have this particular qualification or skill.

Min Score

This field can only be used if you have not entered a grade against this attainment. Enter your own score to indicate the required value of the attainment. This can be used as a sequencing tool when the attainments cannot be alphanumerically sorted, for example: very good, good, satisfactory.
