Service Period Type
Enter W or M to indicate whether the service period type is weekly or monthly.
Unit Type
Display only. The entitlement unit type.
Use Life Time Hours
This check box is only available for hourly entitlement types. Select this check box if actual entitlement calculations should be based on the number of hours an employee has worked in their life time with the company, including hours worked in historic linked posts.
Note: The following two fields are only enabled when the Use Life Time Hours check box is selected.
Use Post Based Accumulators
Select this check box to use post level accumulators to accumulate units worked against individual posts, or leave blank to use total (employee level) accumulators to accumulate units worked for all posts against the EMPLOYEE post.
PE Accumulator
Enter the ID of the pay element used to accumulate the units worked, or select one from the drop-down list. The range of pay elements that can be input are determined by the setting of the above Use Post Based Accumulators check box: when selected, post level accumulators in the range 0640 to 0659 can be input and when blank, total accumulators in the range 0620 to 0639 can be input.
Incr Entl Mid-Cycle
Select this check box if the entitlement rate can be increased part way through the entitlement cycle when the employee’s length of service moves them on to a new entitlement level during the entitlement cycle.
Pro Rata C/Fwd Entitlement Cap
Enter Y to apply the standard pro-rata calculation to the carry forward entitlement limit which only references the FTE hours value. Enter E to apply the enhanced pro-rata calculation to the carry forward entitlement limit which references the FTE hours and the FTE weeks per year values. Enter N or leave blank to not apply any type of pro-rata limit to the carry forward entitlement value.
Note: The FTE is derived using the Post ID and End Date of the Entitlement Period with the remaining entitlement.
Paging Area
Serv
Enter the number of service periods for which you are defining an absence entitlement. This is used in conjunction with the following field, that is, if you enter 2 in this field and the Type field displays a M, the specified entitlement is applicable after 2 months.
Note: It is usual to have a zero entry to ensure that an employee can accrue entitlement from the day on which they start.
Type
Display only. The service period as defined above.
Cycle Len
Enter the length of the entitlement cycle, which is in months or weeks depending on the service period type.
Wrkd
This field is not available if the Use Life Time Hours check box is selected. Enter the number of service units for which you must be employed, in order to accrue the specified entitlement. This is used in conjunction with the following field, that is, if you enter 1 in this field and the Serv Units Type field displays M, the specified entitlement is accrued for each month of employment.
Type
This field is not available if the Use Life Time Hours check box is selected. Enter D, W or M to indicate whether the service units type is days, weeks or months.
For SU Entitlement Calculation Point: when processing an absence, the Type field is used to determine the entitlement calculation date prior to the absence start date as follows for each type:
- Daily - the day before the absence start date.
- Weekly - the last day of the whole number of weeks worked from the entitlement start date up to the absence start date.
- Monthly - the number of whole months between the entitlement start date and the absence start date. For example, if the entitlement starts on the 1st of the month, the entitlement is calculated as of the last day of the last month prior to the absence start date, that is, on the 30th for 30 day months.
Entitlement
If the Use Life Time Hours check box is blank, enter the amount of entitlement that is accrued for the specified number of service units, that is applicable to the specified service period. The units of the entitlement entered is determined by the Entitlement Unit Type field in Leave Management Parameters.
If the Use Life Time Hours check box is selected, click window to display LTH Threshold for Actual Entitlement, where you can maintain the entitlement hours earned figures for different Life Time Hours (LTH) thresholds.
Min Req

Note: An employee's accrued entitlement cannot exceed this global cap. If adding accrued entitlement will exceed this global cap, a warning is displayed and the accrued entitlement is not included.

MCCFwdE
Note: If the MCCFwdE flag is changed for a parameter set without the use of a new Effective Date then all existing entitlement records should be recalculated and any absences in those periods should be undone and re-processed (it is recommended that absences are undone before recalculating the entitlement followed by reprocessing the absences). A message reminding the user of this procedure will appear at the time the flag is changed. If there are post and/or service condition changes within the entitlement year, the recommendations are to delete the entitlement, undo absences (full undo) and then recreate the entitlement as otherwise the order in which the entitlement C\Fwd is recalculated may impact the entitlement value on the report.
Note: If the MCCFwdE flag is switched off for a future Effective Date having previously been switched on, then the Mid-Cycle C/Fwd entitlement will be transferred back into base C/Fwd entitlement on the new entitlement record. A warning message will be displayed at the time the new entitlement record is created.
