ROI Maternity Leave Validation
Start and end date validation is applied for Republic of Ireland (ROI) maternity leave where M is entered in the ROI Parental Leave Type field in Absence Type Definition and the employee has the IE legislation type.
Absence entry
The start and end date validation is applied in Absence Entry and prevents the user from recording a start date that is either:
-
More than 16 weeks before the end of the week in which the baby is due.
For example, an employee’s baby is due on 20th July 2023. The earliest date they can start their maternity leave is 3rd April 2023. If you enter a date from 2nd April 2023 or earlier, the following error message is displayed:
Error – Start Date must be on or after the Earliest Start Date 03/04/2023
or
-
Less than two weeks before the end of the week in which the baby is due.
For example, an employee’s baby is due on 20th July 2023. The latest date they can start their maternity leave is 10th July 2023. If you enter a date from 11th July 2023 or later, the following error message is displayed:
Error – Start Date must be on or before the Latest Start Date 10/07/2023
The validation also prevents the user from recording an end date that is less than four weeks after the end of the week in which the baby is due.
For example, an employee’s baby is due on 20th July 2023. The earliest date they can end their maternity leave is 20th August 2023. If you enter an end date from 19th August 2023 or earlier, the following error message is displayed:
Error – End Date must be on or after the Earliest End Date 20/08/2023
Import validation
The start and end date validation is applied when importing Leave Management absence records for ROI maternity leave to the following:
-
The HR Interface 110LEAVEMANAGEMENT record type
MyView validation
The start and end date validation is applied to the MyView ROI maternity leave entry form to prevent dates being entered that are outside the acceptable earliest and latest start and end dates specified by the Irish Government. If the ROI maternity leave entry form fails validation, then an error message is displayed.
Note: This validation occurs for employees processed with the IE legislation type who have the ROI Parental Leave Type field in Absence Type Definition set to M and the Apply Maternity/Adoption Deductions check box selected in Non-UK Benefit Details. Once these conditions are met, the ROI maternity entry form in MyView will not support open-ended absence, and the Edit and Delete buttons will not be available for authorised forms.
