Enables you to maintain the objects that are used within ResourceLink. An object is a categorisation of functionality within the system, that controls items such as how the data is accessed, what screens can be used and what key numbers can be associated with it, for example:

Objects are categorised as base objects and human objects. Objects that are distributed with ResourceLink should be modified with care.

Selection

Object

Enter a whole or partial object ID to display matching objects in the paging area. You can leave this field blank to display all objects in the paging area.

Paging Area

Object ID

Enter the ID of the object.

Short Desc

Enter the short description of the object.

Sel.Screen

Enter the ID of the selection screen associated with this object. This selection screen is used instead of the selection screen in the Tabbed Screen field, if the Tabbed Selection Screens check box in Navigation Style Maintenance is blank for the operator.

Validn.Fun

Enter the ID of the banner function associated with this object.

Screens

Click WINDOW to display Maintain Object Screens, where you can maintain the object screens available for selection for this object.

Actions

Click WINDOW to display Menubar Actions, where you can maintain the menubar actions available for this object. Menubar actions are accessed from the Navigational Toolbar and the Process, Tools and Display Menus.

Additional

Click EXPAND to display the following fields:

Tabbed Screen

Enter the ID of the tabbed selection screen associated with this object. This selection screen is used instead of the selection screen in the Sel.Screen field if you are using the Web View module, or if the Tabbed Selection Screens check box in Navigation Style Maintenance is selected for the operator.

Human Object

Enter Y if this object is a human object.

Del/Arch Area Def Values

Click WINDOW to display Del/Archive Object Area Default Settings, where you can view the areas within an object that are available for deletion.

Data

Enter Y if user-defined screens can be associated with this object.

Related Objects Del Option

Click WINDOW to display Related Objects Def Delete/Archive Setting, where you can view and maintain the related objects that are available for deletion and the user flags settings.

Main Entity

Enter the ID of the main file (entity) associated with this object, for example, D550M is associated with the EMPLOYEE object.

Expand Right Panel

Enter Y if the Right Hand Panel of Web View will be automatically expanded when a task linked to this object is performed.

Note: If the screen resolution is not high enough for the Task Screen, Navigation Panel and Right Hand Panel to be displayed together, the Right Hand Panel will not auto-expand regardless of this setting.

Field Name

Enter the name of the main field in the above file that is associated with this object, for example, EMPLOYEE_NUMBER is associated with the EMPLOYEE object.

Long Description

Enter the long description of the object.

Note: The following two fields only apply to Human Objects.

Add Task

Enter the task that is used to add a new object of this type or select one by clicking window to display Select Task for Object.

Amend Task

Enter the task that is used to amend an object of this type or select one by clicking window to display Select Task for Object.

DocLink Path

Enter the directory or URL location of the default page. This path is then appended with the object ID as the sub-directory to form the full path of the default page. If this path cannot be found or the field is left blank, then the default directory specified in the MISC > DOCLINK > DIRECTORY system parameter is used.

Auto DocLink Path

Enter Y to automatically create a DOCLINK directory when a new object of this type is added.

DocLink Path

Enter the path where the new object directory should be added, if different to the default DOCLINK directory. For example, if the default DOCLINK directory is a URL location, the alternate path can point to the equivalent directory structure.

DocLink Server

Enter Y if the alternate path should be created on, or via the server.
