Note: The Salary Planning area of functionality is in the process of being removed from ResourceLink and will be completely removed in a future release. In it's place, it is recommended that customers use the Zellis Compensate product. Please contact your Account Manager for more information.

Enables you to create and maintain salary groups. Salary groups can be either a SPOT type where a salary increase is entered as an amount or a SPINAL type where salary increases are determined by an employee’s pay grade. You can create different versions of a salary group each with a different effective date.

Note: Once a salary group has been included in a salary planning period, you cannot make amendments to the salary group.

Selection

Salary Group

Enter the ID of the salary group that you want to maintain or select one from the drop-down list.

If the salary group does not exist, a prompt is displayed allowing you to create the new group.

Selection

Short Description

Enter a short description of the salary group up to 10 characters.

Long Description

Enter a long description of the salary group up to 40 characters.

Type

Select the type of salary group from the drop-down list. The options are set up in the SALINC narrative category.

Effective Date

Enter the date from which the salary group is effective or select one from the drop-down list. Alternatively you can create a new version of the salary group with a different effective date by clicking ADD and entering a date. Salary Group Copy Option is displayed where you have the option of copying existing salary group details from a previous effective date.

Appraisal Rating

Enter Y if the employee's appraisal rating should be displayed on the salary planner.

Category

This field is only displayed if you entered Y in the Appraisal Rating field. Select the type of appraisal rating that you want to display on the salary planner from the drop-down list. The options are set up in the SALAPP narrative category.

Type

This field is only displayed if you selected the Appraisal type in the Category field. Click window to display Defined Appraisal Types, where you can select the type of appraisal for which you want to display an appraisal rating.

Salary Update Reasons - Grade

This field is only displayed if you have selected a SPINAL type salary group. Enter the code of the grade change reason that you want recorded when an employee's salary details are updated, or select one by clicking window to display Dependency Selection. The options are set up in the RSNCHG narrative category.

Salary Update Reasons - Pay Element

Enter the code of the pay element change reason that you want recorded when an employee's salary details are updated, or select one by clicking window to display Dependency Selection. The options are set up in the RSNCHG narrative category.

Note: The following four fields are only displayed if you have selected a SPOT type salary group.

Total Target %, Amount

Enter the total percentage increase permitted on the existing salary budget, or enter the total additional amount permitted on the existing salary budget.

Error Type

Enter one of the following error types to apply to this salary group if the total salary increases exceed the salary budgets stated above:

Include Red Circled Employees

Select this check box if red circled employees in the salary group are included within the existing budget total. Red circled employees are not eligible to an increase in salary, which is indicated in Salary Planning.

Click SEARCH to display the pay element details for the selected salary group details.

Paging Area

PE

Enter the ID of the pay element that you want to include in the salary planning process, or select one from the drop-down list. The pay elements available for selection are N type pay elements that exist within the pay element category specified in the Salary Planning field in ResourceLink Miscellaneous.

Label

Enter the label that you want displayed for the pay element in the MyView Salary Planning module, for example, salary.

Target %, Target Amt

Enter the total percentage increase permitted or enter the total additional amount permitted on the existing budget for this pay element.

Note: If you have entered a total amount for the entire salary budget and have specified amounts against each pay element, then the total of the amounts specified against the pay elements cannot exceed the total amount stated.

Error

Enter E, W or N to specify the error type to apply to this pay element if the total pay element increase exceeds the target.
