Enables you to specify the events that trigger notifications (via email/letter/diary entry),
the people who receive notifications of the event and those who authorise
them. The way in which the notifications work depends on how the event type has
been set up in Maintain Event Types.
The details you set up in Event Notification can be overridden
if details have been entered via any other Event Notification screens.
The order of precedence of the details entered via the event notification
screens is as follows:
- Employee Event Notification
- Operator Event Notification
- Post Event Notification
- Global Event Notification
To access this screen, enter fast path HREMPALL and select the employee, then select Event Notification in the navigation panel.
Paging Area
Event
Enter the ID of the event that is to generate a notification or for which
processing is to be authorised, or select one from the drop-down list.
Event Type
Enter the ID of the event type, or select one from the drop-down list. The event types available vary depending on the selected event.
Description
Display only. The full description of the selected event type.
Summary
Click window to
display a diagram showing all the steps associated with the event, including actions in MyView, authorisations and the tasks included in the workflow, if one is attached. The entire diagram is displayed in the top right-hand corner of the window with a blue outline capturing a section of the diagram, which is displayed in the main area of the window. Click

You can control which section of the diagram is displayed and the size as follows:
- Click and hold the right mouse button anywhere above the area surrounded by the blue outline and move the mouse to position the blue outline over the required section of the diagram. The corresponding section of the diagram is shown in the main area of the window.
- Click and hold the right mouse button on the square in the bottom right-hand corner of the blue outline and move the mouse to shrink or enlarge the blue outline to zoom in or out on the section of the diagram shown in the main area of the window.
Once you have finished viewing the diagram, close the window by clicking the red cross in the top right-hand corner of the window to return to this screen.

Click EXPAND to display the
following fields:
Email Employee
Enter the employee number of the employee who is to receive
an email notification or select one by clicking window
to display Employee Search.
Email Post
Enter the post ID of the employees who
are to receive an email notification or select one by clicking window
to display Post Selection.
Email Manager
Enter the hierarchy which identifies the employee’s manager who is to receive
an email notification or select one by clicking window
to display Hierarchy
Selection.
Note: To use this field you must have post-to-post reporting set up. The default post-to-post hierarchy
used for specifying a manager is set using the MISC > EMAIL > HIERARCHY system parameter.
Email Operator
Enter the operator ID of the operator who is to receive
an email notification or select one by clicking window
to display Operator
Selection Screen.
Email User Group
Enter the user group whose members are to receive an email
notification or select one by clicking window
to display Select
User Group.
Email Selected
Enter Y to send
an email to the selected employee.
Diary Operator
Enter the operator ID of the operator for whom you want
to create a diary entry or select one by clicking window
to display Operator
Selection Screen.
Diary User Group
Enter the user group for which you want to create a diary
entry for each of its members or select one by clicking window
to display Select
User Group.
Diary Selected
Enter Y to create
a diary entry for the selected employee.
Note: The following two fields are only enabled for calendar events when a calendar email template has been specified in Maintain Event Types.
Email Calendar Selected
Enter Y if a calendar entry should be emailed to the selected employee.
Email Calendar Manager
Enter Y if a calendar entry should be emailed to the selected employee's manager.
Authorisation Chain
Enter the authorisation chain for this event type or select
a chain from the drop-down list.
Authorisation Emails
Click window to display
Authorisation Emails,
where you can maintain the authorisation emails, or Auto
Authorisation Emails where you can maintain employee notification
emails, if authorisation is not required.
Notes
Click window to display Maintain Note Detail,
where you can enter any notes or comments you want to record.
Event Desc
Display only. The description of the event.
Condition
Display only. The conditions linked to the event type.
