Enables you to maintain attendance parameter sets which determine the attendance rules used to process attendance records. An attendance parameter set allows you to specify the rules used to determine an employee’s length of service and to link an attendance factor to an attendance type and category. The attendance factor details used to process the attendance depends on the employee's length of service.

You can attach an attendance parameter set to an employee via the following locations, which are used in order by the system to determine which attendance parameter set to use for the employee:

Enter the ID of the attendance parameter set that you want to amend, or select one by clicking window to display Attendance Parameter Selection.

If the attendance parameter set does not exist, a prompt is displayed allowing you to create the new set.

General

Short Description, Long Description

Enter a short and long description to describe the attendance parameter set.

Start Date

Enter C if you want to use the employee’s current start date to determine their length of service, or enter O if you want to use the employee’s original start date to determine their length of service.

Exclude Serv Breaks

Enter Y to exclude service breaks when determining an employees length of service, i.e. for the time spent on a service break to count towards the employee's length of service.

Use Alternate Week Start

Select this check box to use the Attendance Week Starting day as set against the appropriate Control Group in place of the system default Week Starting Day.

Effective Dates

Effective Date

Enter the effective date of the attendance parameter set you want to maintain, or select one from the drop-down list. Alternatively, you can enter a new effective date if required.

Start Date

Enter the employment start date of the attendance parameter set you want to maintain, or select one from the drop-down list. Alternatively, you can enter a new employment start date if required. The employment start date is used in addition to the effective date when deriving the employee's attendance parameter set; the employee's start date must be on or after the employment start date for the attendance parameter set to be applicable.

Paging Area

Type

Enter the ID of the required attendance type, or select one from the drop-down list.

Category

Enter the ID of the category applicable the selected attendance type, or select one by clicking window to display Attendance Category Selection.

Pay/Lieu/Cash

Display only. Indicates whether the attendance category is paid (P), taken as time off in lieu or flexi (L), or has a cash value (C).

Factor

Enter the ID of the attendance factor that applies to the selected attendance category, or select one by clicking window to display Attendance Factor Selection.
