Succession Planning
Succession planning enables your organisation to identify one or more potential successors for any specified post that may become vacant in the future, and to track the progress of those individuals against the criteria set for that post. You can use the succession planning module along with the career development module to control the progress and promotion of staff within your organisation.
The following options are available for succession planning:
To find candidates for a post by succession planning:
- Create a succession plan for the post you want to fill, using Maintain Succession Plan.
- Specify the skills and experience required for the post, using Default Attainments.
- Record the actual attainments of likely candidates for the post, using Employee Attainment Detail.
- Enter the likely candidates onto the succession plan using Succession Plan Employees.
- Find the candidates whose attainments match those required for the post by using one of the following options:
- Succession Plan Employees (using the Attainment Matching window).
- Post Succession Plans (using the Attainment Matching window).
- Attainment Matching Maintenance (using the Attainment Matching Report).
