Enables you to view and update information relating to the employee’s career history within your organisation. The employee’s post information, as entered on the Employment Detail screen, is fed across automatically to Employee Post Holding History, thereby keeping a running history of all the posts the employee has held.

You should not normally need to add details to this screen unless you have recently acquired the ResourceLink HR system and you want to enter the employee’s post history manually.

Note: An alternative version of this screen (MD47S37) is available to display a restricted view of an employee's post holding history. Only those posts to which the operator has access (as determined by their profile) are available.

Paging Area

Start

The date when the employee first occupied the post.

End Date

The date when the employee is due to leave or has left the post, if applicable. All posts (with the exception of the current post) must have an end date.

Post

The ID of the post. You can add historic dated posts if required, providing they are concurrent.

When you enter a new post ID, the following checks and actions are performed:

Main

Display only. Indicates if this post is the main post.

Status

Display only. The code representing the status of the position, for example, full-time or part-time.

Notes

Click window to display Maintain Note Detail, where you can enter any notes or comments you want to record.

Detail

Click WINDOW to display Employee Post Holding Details, where you can add further details about the employee’s current post.

Summary

Click window to display Employee Post Holding Summary, where you can view a summary of the post details.

Click EXPAND to display the following display-only fields:

Job

The employee’s current job.

Grade

The grade associated with the employee’s post.

Service Condition

The service condition associated with the employee’s post.

Post Description, Post Short Desc

The long and short description of the employee's post.

Job Description, Grade Description, Status Description, Occupancy Description

The descriptions of the employee's job, grade, position status and occupancy.

Post Joining Reason, Post Leaving Reason

The reasons why the employee joined and left this post, if applicable.
